Walking Your Dog

WALKING YOUR DOG

Whether it be in a park, on a country road or on city streets, when we walk our dog, it is necessary that he knows and understands the rules that he has learned. This will stop him from getting into trouble with other animals or people we meet.

In crowded places we will usually keep his leash on, that way, we can keep him under control. With proper leash training he will know how to walk in a leash, close to you, without pulling.

The dog should behave in a manner that he will not run after bicycles, motorcycles, cars or even people that are running. Although some dogs do because it is their instinct to do so.

It is very important that if we let the dog free, to relax, he will come to you when he is called to you promptly. We need to know that he has been trained to behave in this manner as not to frighten anyone who may be afraid of dogs.
